A fork of Rural Dictionary
You could be on the chirpse with a guy or girl, everything seems to be going fine.. you THINK you like them but then you suddenly catch 'The Ick'. From then on you can't look at the person in the same way, you just progressively get more and more turned off by them, weirdly & maybe for no reason in particular grossed out by them. You'll cringeeeeee at the thought of you and them together. Nothing will be the same, you won't be able to do it any longer and eventually have to cut it off.- Ideology curtesy of Olivia from Love Island:)
Olivia: Sam's a really nice guy, such a happy boy so full of light. Thought i kinda fancied him, but i've caught 'The Ick' and I can't knock it off. Once you've caught it, it takes over body. Can't do it anymore...
Something someone does that is an instant turn-off for you, making you instantly hate the idea of being with them romantically.
Friend: Omg did you see (insert name of crush) picking his nose?? That is such an ick.
an “ick” is most commonly known as something that’s a turnoff when you have romantic interest in someone. alternatively, it can be used to describe something that makes you uncomfortable or weirded out by.
“I don’t know man, chest hair is just totally an ick for me.” “Someone send me an ick list! I seriously don’t want to catch feelings.” “I love Chowder, but the way they animate the textures gives me a bit of an ick.”
A feeling you get when you’re dating/hooking up with someone and you realize how ugly or cringey they actually are. This often happens post-break up, and you are filled with overwhelming feelings of regret and disgust.
Damn, my boyfriend is really starting to give me the icks. I know we’ve been dating for a while, but he’s actually really cringey.
To be disgusted or annoyed by a certain action or image
That woman icked me out with all those open sores.
