SYLLOGISM

Logic. A form of deductive reasoning consisting of a major premise, a minor premise, and a conclusion; for example, All humans are mortal, the major premise, I am a human, the minor premise, therefore, I am mortal, the conclusion. Reasoning from the general to the specific; deduction. A subtle or specious piece of reasoning.

Every virtue is laudable; Kindness is a virtue; Therefore kindness is laudable. These propositions are denominated respectively the major premise, the minor premise, and the conclusion.

syllogismize

Syllogismize (verb) - To formulate a syllogistic logical argument.

For example: "If I syllogismize correctly, the conclusion follows necessarily from the premises." "I broke the argument down and syllogismized each step to ensure the logic was valid." "The debater carefully syllogismized his points during the speech to drive his conclusion home." "If you can successfully syllogismize ideas that seem unrelated, you may find innovative solutions."
