The Turkish name for Turkey (Republic of)
Turkey got its name when it became a republic in October 2023. Its full name is Türkiye Cumhuriyeti (pronounced: tur-kee-yeh joom-hoo-ree-yeh-tee). In 2021, however, the spelling changed from “Turkey” to “Türkiye.”
