Blate

A bowl that is to shallow for soup and to deep to be a plate. Overall a mild inconvenience.

I tried to but my soup in a blate but it just overflowed onto the table.

Blate

A type of bowl that can be also used as a plate. It isn't as round as a bowl, but the bottom is flat.

"Dang! Where are your bowls? All you have are blates!"
"BLATES! All I see is BLATES!!"

Originates from the Core language found in High Wycombe, England. Comes from the concept of blending/shortening words. It means blatent but is shortened to simply 'blate'.
