A flerb is a form of measurement. The equation for flerbs changes daily. They are so many variables in the equation that there is no way for you to figure out what those variables stand for, thus making the measurement useless. The measurement might be useless, but flerbs are vary useful for writing on math tests when you don't know the answer. That number of flerbs might be equal to the answer of the question.
"Today's equation for flerbs is - (a + b) - arc length of semicircle x volume of box."
The variables aren't defined at all. You have no idea what a and b stand for, or what semicircle I'm talking about, or what box I'm talking about.
