A fork of Rural Dictionary
It is a term used for a specific subset of fans of the popular K-pop boy band Stray Kids. This term particularly comes after the group's problematic collaboration "Lose My Breath" which was released on May 10th, 2024, and which a former Israeli soldier helped to produce. The collaboration also features Charlie Puth, who is not only a Zionist but also highly disrespectful towards women. As a result, fans of Stray Kids decided to boycott the song (including the Skz vers.) due to its ties to Zionism as a form of protest. A wavemaker refers to those fans who supported the collaboration. Wavemakers also usually have other problematic traits such as homophobia, fatphobia, racism, etc. Wavemakers are also usually called "anti-boycotters" for refusing to boycott the song.
"They're a wavemaker. I'm not surprised they're also racist. I'm going to block them." "Wavemakers are in the replies. Thanks for the block list!"
