acumen

A word used by people who fall upon remarkable good luck and try to impress their friends and relatives by claiming keen insight.

This was inevitable. I don't know why anyone would be surprised at my incredible hockey acumen.

Acumen

Quickness of perception or discernment; penetration of mind; the faculty of nice discrimination. (botany) A sharp, tapering point extending from a plant. (anatomy) A bony, often sharp, protuberance, especially that of the ischium.
