North east english term for wet and muddy ground conditions
Oh no the ground is really Clarty out after all the rain
Scottish word for dirty - usually sticky or muddy dirt. May come from 'clart' which is dirt or mud and then 'clarted' would be covered in mud or dirt.
Whoever sees fit to let there dog empty there guts on the path, it is irresponsible clarty and lazy.
