ICU

short for Intensive Care Unit. ICU is a place in a hospital where they place a person who's in very critical condition so he/she can be closely monitored, and if necessary p0laced in care. They have care from the least critical like people who had a heart attack, and are breathing, and are fine, but need to be monitored closely, to the sickest of the sickest patients who require complete bodily functional support from a ventilator, ECMO, and lots of other machines.

1. He's in ICU, and they have him on the jet ventilator. 2. What's going on with him? 3. He's probably not going to survive. He's in severe ARDS.

tunug medicine

Tunug medicine is a special kind of medication that when taken, causes you to hallucinate, and see these weird machines called tunugs. This medicine also causes you to hallucinate about a boy called the mattress boy who loves to use weird mattress on people. These mattress can range anywhere from a regular air mattress that is pumped electrically, to a huge air mattress that's electric pump stays on all the time, and vibrates, and makes the person feel weird. People who take a little bit of the tunug medicine have just minor hallucinations. People who take a whole lot of the tunug medicines can have severe SEVERE hallucinations that if bad enough, can be fatal, because it can cause the person's heart rate to speed up, and could cause them to be sent into V-Fib which is an abnormal heart arhythmia in which the heart stops pumping, and just quivers.

1. A few days ago I took a whole lot of that tunug medicine and ended up almost dying from the machine that the mattress boy used on me. I was told to get on these horrible mattresses!! 2. Was one hooked up to a pump with a green light? 3. YES. 4. That's scarey. 5. YES IT IS!!

Medical Nerd

A person who has MNS. This person is considered strange in some eyes but to some people particularly nurses in a hospital or Drs. is considered up their alley. This person is considered a Medical Nerd or MN because they love medical equipment, and/or love to talk about Drs. and nurse's jobs a lot, or some people just love studying the human body.

1. This dude is a Medical Nerd. 2. I know. 3. He tried to steal a pulse oximeter from the hospital one time, and the nurses just laughed at him, and took the pulse oximeter back. 4. What brand was the pulse oximeter? 5. It was Ohmeda 3760 6. Oh.

NICU

NICU is short for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Its where they place sick and/or premature newborns so that they can be monitored, and if necessary, cared for by nurses and Drs. and also therapists.

1. He was placed in the NICU after being born at 18 weeks, and was on a ventilator until he got to be about to his due date at which time he was given a tracheostomy. 2. awwwwww, does he have any lung function? 3. No. He can't see, hear, move, and pp0retty much lies there doing absolutely nothing.

ABG

Arterial Blood Gas. Blood taken from an artery to measure the gasses such as CO2, Pao2, HCO3, and PH.

1. I have to have an ABG. 2. OUCH. THOSE HURT. 3. YES THEY DO. 4. They are 100 times worse than getting your blood drawn!! 5. Wish me luck. 6 Good luck.

PO

Short for Pulse Oximeter. A PO is a device used to monitor the oxygen in a patient's blood. It shines light through a patient's finger, toe, nose, earlobe, or the patient's forhead, and another sensor on the other side of the light wave measures how the light is being absorbed.

1. He's on a PO machine, and they are going to have to put hom on the ventilator, because his oxygen is 85 so he is having another set of desat episodes.

Ohmeda TruSat

The Ohmeda TruSat is a pulse oximeter that was invented in 2005. It is one of the world's smallest bedside monitors that is a lot smaller than most of the bedside pulse oximeters out on the market today. It has two buttons, one for the on/off button, one to silence the alarm, and a green wheel, that can be pressed in, and/or turned to select settings!! Features include: 1. Easy to see numeric display. 2. alarm limits visible at all times. 3. 48 hour TREND DATA. 4. Pir or Perfusion index measurements. 5. Alarms audio and visual alarms sound when something is out of a set limit. 6. Optional backlight. 7. Waighs less than half the waight of a regular bedside pulse oximeter.

1. He has the Ohmeda TruSat and he uses it all the time. 2. Does he like the audio pulse? 3. YES. 4. Does the monitor have alarms? 5. Yes. 6. All Right.
